3D Realms Wins Developer of the Year Award!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Garland, TX - January 28, 1997

In the February 1997 issue of Computer & Net Player, Apogee/3D Realms was won a major honor: "Developer of the Year" for 1996. Said the magazine: "This small Texas-based software company reminded the computer games industry that what we do for a living is a lot of fun...This company's attention to detail and commitment to innovation have propelled it to the forefront of game development."

In the same issue Duke Nukem 3D was first runner-up in the "Action Game of 1996" category, and first runner-up in the "Multiplayer Game of 1996" category ("...Duke and his Dukematch are a close second.")

To win "Developer of the Year" among all of the other great developers is a hugely rewarding honor for us, and one we'll live up to in the future, too.

In related news, PC Games magazine (Jan. 1997 issue) voted Duke Nukem 3D "Game of the Year", as well as "Action Game of the Year" and "Multiplayer Game of the Year." And, Duke Nukem's voice actor was voted the best voice effects in a game for 1996. (This same issue had Shadow Warrior as their cover story.)
