As you head back to the bombed door you need to rush the 3 men upstairs. They must not be allowed to throw the grenade at you. Once you've killed them get the grenade. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. Then head all the way back to the start of the level.
Throw the grenade into the hole and check your objectives. Then head back to the door. In the are before the door the rats will have spawned with guns.
Cute and deadly.
