Max Payne Kung Fu Mod Author Interviewed

If you're into Max Payne mods, then you're sure to know about the Kung Fu v3.0 mod that was released last month. It's a wonderful mod, and if you're a fan of Max Payne, you should check it out, if you haven't already done so. You can check it out over at http://kungfu.maxpayneheadquarters.com.

Anyway, Gamespy has done an interview with the author of the mod, and it's a good read, especially if you're into the mod. Check out the interview here. In the meantime, here's a short clip from it:

Gamespy: "A lot of my fellow journalists who have seen the new Matrix game and who have also seen your "Kung Fu" mod in action all come to the same conclusion. They all say, "Dude, this is what the Matrix game should look like." Or, "This is so much better than the Matrix Reloaded." How do you feel about that? Has anyone from Shiny Entertainment (the folks who are developing the Matrix Reloaded game) asked you about your mod? "

To see what Kenneth Yeung has to say about it, check out the full interview here.

Duke Nukem & The Death of Dreams

Is Resident Evil stalking your kids as they sleep? Does Buffy the Vampire Slayer slash her way through their dreams?

Well, that's the lead text in a story recently published entitled "Duke Nukem and the Death of Dreams". It talks about the correlation between videogames and lack of sleep in children, which in turn leads to other issues like health problems, irritability, and other issues. Check out the article, which doesn't have a whole lot to do with Duke Nukem (other than the title), but it is an interesting read.

Duke Nukem 3D Ported to Linux!

You've knew it was bound to happen quickly. After we released the source code a couple of days ago, the popular site Icculus has ported Duke Nukem 3D to Linux. Icculus did a lot of cool ports of the Rise of the Triad source a few months ago, and they're at it again with Duke. For the latest updates on their work, check out the Icculus Duke3D page.

This port requires that you have the Atomic Edition of Duke3D, which can be purchased at our online store here (or by clicking on the online store button to the left).

Duke Nukem 3D Source Code Released

In other Duke Nukem news today, we've released the source code to Duke Nukem 3D.

Available now for download, the source code is being released under the GPL license - we still retain copyright on the game (plus we still sell Duke Nukem 3D). This is one of the most requested things of us over the years, and we decided that now was the time. In the archive are some thoughts about Duke Nukem 3D by Scott Miller & George Broussard of 3D Realms. You can check out the readme here before downloading the entire archive.

The folks reading this who aren't programmers probably won't have any interest in this release, but those who are programmers might want to check it out. A big thanks go out to all the Duke Nukem fans around the world who have waited for this. We hope you enjoy it!

Duke Nukem Forever for the Atari 2600!

You've waited a long time for information about Duke Nukem Forever, and today we have some for you. We're proud to announce that the first console system to have Duke Nukem Forever on it (as a matter of fact, the first appearance anywhere) is the Atari 2600 gaming system.

Many folks have wondered why it's taken us so long to get any information out on the game. Well, the reason for that is that we've had to spend an enormous amount of time and effort figuring out how to make the Unreal engine work on the Atari 2600 system.

For more information on DNF 2600, you can visit our our Duke Nukem Forever 2600 page where you can read about it, see screenshots from the cartridge, as well as check out a video of the cartridge in action. We hope you're as excited about this news release as we are!
