Shadow Warrior 3DFX

The update to the Shadow Warrior 3Dfx patch has been released. This new version cleans up the 3Dfx patch graphics (the old one was kind of muddy), as well as a few problems the first 3Dfx patch had.

You can download it on the Master Downloads page.

Shadow Warrior 3DFX Update Info

We are testing the final version of the v1.1 3Dfx patch for Shadow Warrior. (This is not to mean that it will work with v1.1 of the game, it won't - This is a update to the existing 3Dfx patch, so it's called the 3Dfx patch 1.1). If there aren't any problems, we anticipate a release by Friday of this week. Here is some of what you can look forward to in the upgraded patch:

* You can now save/load games successfully.
* Can select resolutions from the set3dfx.exe program.
* F5 will toggle resolutions in the game now.
* Colors are no longer "muddy" and match the software version closely.
* Status bar should no longer be "garbled".
* Added 800x600 support.
* Smoke Bomb will now make your hands transparent, so you can tell you are invisible.
* Multiplay frag bar no longer has top line cut off
* Better error message if glide2x.ovl not found in your path.

Thanks to everyone for being patient for the new patch.

Max Payne Update

There's not been a lot of news about Max Payne, but that's going to be slowly changing as development reaches new milestones that show significant progress. For those who don't know, Max Payne is a third-person 3D game set in present day New York where you play a cop whose world has turned upside down. You've been framed, and there's a conspiracy that involves cops, the mob, and the local government. There's little chance of you surviving, let alone succeeding to uncover the conspiracy. This story-driven game will be action packed, violent, controversial, and above all engrossing.

Prey & Duke Nukem Forever Most Wanted

There an interesting Reader Picks "Top 10 Most Anticipated Games" list in the Feb/Mar OGR magazine. It lists Prey at number 2 and Duke Nukem Forever at number 3. Also interesting to note that Duke Nukem Forever is Number 3 with virtually no information out about the game. Imagine what will happen when we start hyping the thing ;) A big thanks to the readers that ranked us that high. We don't think you will be disappointed.
