Duke Nukem Advance
Coming shortly (it's currently slated to hit the streets next month) is a new original platform Duke Nukem game. Entitled "Duke Nukem Advance", this title is for (you guessed it) the Nintendo Gameboy Advance platform.
We have a page up on our web site for the title now, and the page has some info about the game, as well as some screenshots, and other cool things like a link to an interview with one of the folks from Torus (the people who made the game). Speaking of that interview, here's a few quotes from it:
GT: What advances in the alien AI will we be seeing in Duke Nukem Advance?
Brian: Originally we wanted to have more attack patterns for some of the new enemies but in the end we felt it more important to concentrate on other areas instead. Plus the fact that the AI we had in place turned out really well so we stuck with that.
GT: Duke Nukem Advance is entering a crowded field of top-notch fps titles that have already been released on the GBA. What features does Duke Nukem Advance sport that will set it apart from the rest?
Brian: The first thing you will notice is the frame-rate. It is a much faster game than the predecessors.
There is a lot more to check out in this interview - Brian Uniacke from Torus has a lot to say about the title's development history. (Link removed Aug 2006, no longer online)
And while you're reading about it, make sure to head on over to Amazon.com and pre-order your copy of Duke Nukem Advance. And if you don't have a GameBoy Advance - no problem, you can order a Gameboy Advance system from Amazon.com, too.

Max is a year old!
One year ago yesterday, Max Payne hit the streets. The hit game (3 million copies & climbing) from Remedy & 3D Realms has been out there a year now. It's garnered many many awards, spawned two console ports (to the Xbox & PS2), and continues to be appeciated by gamers worldwide! (Max Payne is even used in the opening credits for the TechTV game show Extended Play!) Don't know what Max Payne is? Here's a bit from the story of the game..
Three years back a young NYPD cop, Max Payne, came home one night to find his family senselessly slaughtered by a gang of drug-crazed junkies, high on a previously unknown synthetic drug. Now that same drug, Valkyr, has spread through the whole New York City like a nightmare plague, and Max Paynes on a crusade for revenge, out to get even. To Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA, this new drug was evil incarnate, to be stopped at any cost. Max's boss and best friend, the only one who knew his true identity, has been murdered, and Max's been framed for the slaying. Everything ripped apart in a New York minute... Max Payne is a man with nothing to lose in the violent, cold urban night. A fugitive undercover cop framed for murder, and now hunted by cops and the mob. Max is a man with his back against the wall, fighting a battle he cannot hope to win. Prepare for a new breed of deep action game. Prepare for pain...
Featuring the award winning Bullet-Time feature, which allows you to slow down the game action on the fly while you play, Max is sure to please any gamer. It certainly has over the year it's been out. If you haven't played it before, you can grab it a few ways:
* Download the free PC demo game
* Buy the full PC game from 3D Realms
* Order the Xbox version from Amazon.com
* Order the PS2 version from Amazon.com
* Order the MACINTOSH version from Amazon.com
If you want more information on Max Payne, visit our Max Payne page on this site, or you can visit the Official Max Payne site (requires Flash). Both have screenshots, downloads, and other cool stuff to check out!
If you already have Max Payne, how about grabbing your copy and giving a spin!

A Little History
Yesterday, in going over some older areas of our web site, it got me wondering exactly how many games our company has published in the 15 years or so we've been around. So, I went through some notes, and comprised a list of every game we've published, and it was quite a lengthy list - a total of 55 titles!
Anyway, if you check out this thread on our forums, you can see the complete list of titles, as well as a poll in which you can vote on your favorite game of all time.
You can check out our detailed release history here, which details every single release the company has made over it's 15 year history. And while you're at it, make sure to check out "The Apogee FAQ", which covers all kinds of minutiae about us, and our games - including several things we wager you didn't know about our past.

Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project Reviews
A week ago, Voodoo Extreme published their review of Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project. For some reason, we neglected to get it online, but we're here now with it. As they really liked the game, we felt we should make sure it got covered. Here's a bit of what they had to say:
Visually, the game is impressive. Bringing a 2D gaming style to a more modern 3D theater, Sunstorm has done a fabulous job in ensuring that the game looks as good as it plays and gives gamers all the Eye Candy weve come to expect in action games in this day and age.
Overall the game is quite fun to play.
Did I enjoy it? Absolutely! For those that are fans of the Duke Nukem series of games, this one is a must have; for those that are looking for an addictively fun game that quite honestly does the best job of capturing the feel and attitude of the character since Duke Nukem 3D (complete with trademark wisecracks, humor, and plenty of explosions), you really cant go wrong with Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project.

Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project Editor Update
Also available today is an update to the editor that ships on the Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project CD. When the v1.01 registered patch was published a few weeks ago, it broke the editor. This update fixes that problem.
If you've used the v1.01 registered patch on your game, then you will need this file in order to make levels and whatnot. Also, if you have NOT used the registered patch, you don't want this file, because the v1.01 version of the editor will not work with the v1.0 version of teh game, nor will it work with the demo.
Here's some download links for the editor:
* Fileplanet
* 3D Realms FTP
* 3D Gamers
* FileShack
